SR Project Manager/Program Manager

Purpose:

The SR Project Manager will provide ongoing Project and Program Management support for the Business Process and System organization.

Responsibilities:
• Day to day project and program management including development of
o Project Plans
o WBS, Scope, Risk, Change and Communications plans
• Resource coordination and task management (including Business Analysts,
Architects, Developers, QA, etc.)
• Candidate must completely own their projects, define baseline scope and demonstrate resourcefulness in managing change, overcoming obstacles and delivering projects on time. Business needs may require priority calls and adjustments to planned activities.
• Weekly status reporting to PMO and client teams
• Communication management with development partners and internal clients
• Vendor management
• Support of global Program Management Office initiatives


Requirements include:

• 10 or more years experience in project managing large-scale, full lifecycle projects (including system development, process definition, user training, deployment, etc.) in the OSS/BSS and EAI space.
• Extensive experience managing multiple, concurrent, and distributed projects in a global environment. Coordination and communication across a diverse group of organizations and interaction with a variety of management levels is an absolute necessity. Flexible in terms of work schedule to work and manage team members in different time zones.
• Strong understanding of project management best practices and planning techniques (PMI PMBOK). PMP certification a plus.
• Good understanding of OSS and BSS technologies, associated business drivers and implementation challenges.
• Excellent interpersonal, communications time management and organization skills.
• A positive, highly proactive attitude with strong problem solving abilities. Willing to take initiative in completely managing projects and internal/external relationships without strict guidance.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, start-up environment and to manage tight deadlines within a politically sensitive environment. The candidate must be flexible in work assignments and schedule.
• Strong innovation and self-motivation with a flexible positive “can do” attitude.
• 5 or more years Vendor Management and negotiation experience.
• Power user with MS Project and conversant with other PM software tools
• Travel as necessary (domestic and international)
• Experience with any of the following software packages a plus: Amdocs Clarify CRM, Portal Infranet, Oracle 11i, TIBCO, SMARTS, etc.
