CFO with Bakery experience

You must have food preferably bakery manufacturing experience to be considered.

Purpose of Position

CFO will be responsible for maintenance and development of the financial systems, and for providing strategic advice, detailed financial reports, analysis and forecasts to the President and Board members. As a senior member of the management team, the CFO has a critical role in strategic planning and organization compliance.

Reporting and Relationships

This position reports to the President and manages the work of the Finance Department. In addition, the CFO maintains a close Professional relationship with the Plant Managers, Senior Level Management and the Administration Managers. The position also maintains external relationships with auditor and commercial banking institutions.

Responsibilities and Activities

Financial Systems and Reporting
Manage all facets of the financial systems and reporting requirements to accounting GAAP standards and Company policy including:

Provide advice to the President to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements and reporting requirements of funding agencies.

Provide advice and work collaboratively with Managers to prepare financial reports as required, drawing data from financial and information management systems.

CFO

Ensure appropriate and effective financial and compliance systems are created and maintained including:

Analysis and review of areas of expenditure for necessity and reasonableness against strategic goals, program requirements, and policy to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.

Ensure the validity and accuracy of payments and receipts against statutory and regulatory requirements and COMPANY policy.

Monitor and ensure compliance with taxation legislation .

Ensure financial integrity and effective management of risk.


Budgets

Ensure effective collaboration with managers and the President that budgets are developed, maintained and reviewed including:

Develop systems and tools for the preparation and maintenance of global and departmental budgets.
Report budget variances to the President on a monthly basis.
Prepare, review and re-cast budgets as required; and
lead skill development to ensure continuous improvement of financial management skills among the management team.

Payroll

In collaboration with the Administration Manager ensure conformity with contracts of employment and
statutory, regulatory and award requirements in:
Payroll payments and records.
Employer 401K contribution and voluntary employee contribution payments.
Allowances, authorized deduction and reimbursement of expense payments; and maximize financial benefits to COMPANY through design of remuneration packages.

Records

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all finance activities according to statutory and regulatory requirements and COMPANY Policy.

Background Requirements:

Experience as a Financial Controller/Management Accountant including that has worked for a large bakery operation with multi-plant background.
Experience in the design, implementation, maintenance and management of financial systems, including accounting software, spreadsheets and other financial recording and reporting systems.
High level communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
High level analysis, research and interpretation skills.
High level leadership, project management, and time management skills.
BS degree with MBA / CPA preferred.
